Competitive Car Window Tinting
Everyone has a budget, and we understand this. If you are calling around for window film prices for your car, you will find that there is a wide range as far as pricing goes, and the price that you are quoted is determined by several factors. Buyer Beware – A low cost estimate will generally mean that you are getting a poor-quality film. So how can you make a qualified choice on who to use?

Qualify the Film Manufacturer
First of all, what film manufacturer will you choose, and what installation company should you go with? There are tons of different films on the market today, most of them you are probably not even familiar with. That being said, you have to understand that there are also different “qualities” of window films to choose from. These films run the gauntlet from “best of the best” all the way down to window films that simply wont stand the test of time or perform poorly on the heat rejection side.
Decide what is important to you. Are you just looking for looks and privacy? Or do you want a high-performance film with all the bells and whistles, giving you maximum performance and longevity. These are certainly the prime considerations you should decide on up front to help you narrow down your research.

Is It A “Quality” Product
The next thing to consider, and probably the most important thing to look into is “who” makes the film and is it good quality. Just like anything else you consider purchasing, there are many options as far as this is concerned and will affect the price you will pay for the installation of window films on your car, truck, or SUV. All the films on the market today are not created equal and can vary greatly.

Choosing one of the top window film manufacturers will help ensure that you have a quality product. After all, you only want to pay to have it done once right? Select a film that has a lifetime warranty, and covers everything that could possibly go wrong, like fading to a different color, bubbling, peeling or delaminating from the glass.

Qualify The Window Film Installation Company
Next, qualify the company you are considering using. It is easy to at least narrow down potential candidates by looking at reviews. Any company that is legitimate will have a great review profile on Google Reviews, Yelp, and Facebook. Don’t go with a company that either has a low review count, or a poor rating. Check to see what other previous customers say about the company, quality of work, professionalism, and how they treat and take care of their clients. If you do all these things, you will have an idea on what company to consider.

Use A Company That Has A Physical Location
Does the company you are considering have a physical store location? There are tons of installers out there that offer “mobile” service to your home or office. Although these companies are convenient and can save you time on getting the work done, what are the potential problems from going with this type of service provider? If you choose one of these outfits to come to you to do the work, what happens if there is a problem after you have paid for the service,  such as window film peeling, poor cuts and fitment, or it is a “dirty” install, meaning there is a lot of debris trapped underneath the film, etc., etc.

Will they come back to address the problem and make sure you are happy with the work? This is something you need to decide before you go with one of these companies. You certainly would be taking a chance that they may not even come back to take care of a problem that is evident after the film has cured to the glass.

How Do You Want Your Car To Look
A bad window film install can make your car look terrible. After all, you are also probably having this work performed to make your car look better aren’t you? Don’t make a mistake and have some no-name company do the work for you. Go to a company that has a physical location, and one that has been around for a long time, that has a robust review profile. That way if you do have a problem, you can at least go back to the store to have your concerns addressed. Just like any other service you’re looking to have performed, there is a wide gap in installation expertise. A quality window film installation is no different. The price you pay is in direct correlation to the quality of the install.

Llumar AIR80 Window Film

Llumar’s AIR series window tint is a specialty film that provides superior heat and UV protection without darkening the glass on your car. Almost clear, AIR80 is the perfect choice if you dont want to change the outside appearance of your car, but still get all the benefits that darker, hi-performance films provide. AIR80 also is a great choice for sunroofs. It allows all the natural light to come through the port, but without the heat transfer. This film is also an awesome choice if you choose to tint the entire windshield and will protect the dash from damaging UV light, which can over time destroy interior leather, plastic trim and other interior parts. Installing AIR80 over factory privacy glass on trucks and SUV's will give the glass the heat rejection properties that privacy glass lacks. Factory privacy glass is not designed to stop heat, and AIR80 applied over these windows will not only stop the heat transfer, but will do so without making the glass substantially darker.

  • Superior heat rejection
  • “Clear” shade maintains stock look
  • Over 99% UV protection
  • Does not impede night vision
  • National Factory Backed Warranty
  • Excellent performance
  • Glare reduction
  • UV protection

State of Georgia Tint Law

The tint law in Georgia is very defined, and there are a number of considerations that you need to be aware of in order to make sure that the window tint installed on your car meets all the requirments. Having illegal film installed on your vehicle not only gives police officers probable cause to pull you over. The fines could be fairly substantial depending on what jurisdiction you get the ticket from, and it can vary greatly.

Passenger Cars:

35% on all side windows and back glass.

Trucks and SUV's:

The only part of the vehicle that is regulated is the front doors as far as side windows and back windows are concerned. You can go as dark as you would like on all the glass behind the front driver/passenger doors. 35% is the legal limit for the front doors only.

The State of Georgia will allow you to go darker than the legal limit if you have applied for and received a waiver in the event that you have a medical condition that requires a darker window film for your car.

People with skin conditions that are affected by solar exposure are prime candidates for this exemption. There are also people that have sensitivity to light, and can also qualify and receive a waiver for this exemption.

Other Window Film Requirements:

  • The front and back windows on the side of your car cannot have a reflectivity of more than 20%.  (Metalized films)
  • Red or Blue tint is not legal.
  • Windshield strips on the top of
your windshield cannot exceed 6 inches, and cannot be reflective.
